Former MSU basketball star Anthony Ianni to talk autism, anti-bullying in Brighton
It may seem difficult to believe anyone would pick on a 6-foot 9-inch basketball star.
But Anthony Ianni, a former Michigan State basketball player, who has autism spectrum disorder, was a target of bullies throughout his childhood.
Now, he is on the Relentless Tour, an anti-bullying initiative sponsored by the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and his next stop is Thursday in Brighton.
He will speak at 6:30 p.m. at Flex Tech High School, 7707 Conference Center Drive, about his experiences, seeking to raise awareness of autism, the problem of bullying, and the importance of pursuing dreams in spite of adversity.
